Liminal, 2015

Liminal relates to a transitional or initial stage of a process, which occupies a position at, or on both sides of a boundary or threshold.

Liminal is situated within Pier 2/3 in Walsh Bay. Comprised of a Museum, a DNA laboratory and an auditorium. Liminal is a project that proposes are modes of knowledge interaction and exchange. The implementation of the museum and DNA laboratory facilities the de-extinction of extinct Australian species, whilst the auditorium allows for the staging of concerts, sporting events and public lectures.

Operating around a centralised auditorium, the museum and lab are displayed as both static and active artefacts. Liminal explores the potential for 'in-between' and 'overlapping' space in which moments of interaction and exchange result in the production and dissemination of new ideas and knowledge.
